The Charter Fee
Rates
Most listings publish a weekly rate and stop. The rate is only part of what you will pay, so here is the whole of it: the charter fee, Spanish VAT, and the Advance Provisioning Allowance. Nothing else.

Rates are per week in euros and will be published here once set. Until then, ask and you will be quoted in writing.
The charter fee
Covers the yacht with her equipment, tenders and toys; seven crew, their wages and food; ship’s linen and laundry; and the vessel’s insurance.
Spanish VAT — 21%
Added to the charter fee on charters commencing in Spanish waters. It is a tax, not a surcharge, and it appears on the contract. A charter starting in another country is treated differently and confirmed in writing before signature.
Advance Provisioning Allowance
Percentage to confirm of the charter fee, placed before boarding. It pays at cost for fuel, berthing and harbour dues, food and drink, shoreside transport, communications and anything else the party asks for. The captain accounts for it against receipts, and the unspent balance is returned at the end of the charter.
Delivery and redelivery
Palma. Boarding or disembarking at any other port is charged at cost — fuel, berthing and crew time — and quoted before you commit.
Crew gratuity
Entirely at your discretion, and never built into the rate.
The contract
Charters are contracted on the standard MYBA Charter Agreement, the form the industry works to. Payment terms, cancellation and the security deposit are as set out in it.
Charter fee + 21% VAT + APA. That is the total, and it is what you will see on the contract.
